Arvind Kejriwal turns 48; Modi and others extend birthday greetings

“Birthday greetings to Delhi CM @ArvindKejriwal. I pray for his long life and good health,” Mr Modi tweeted, to which Mr Kejriwal responded, “Thank u so much sir.”

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and Congress veteran Sheila Dikshit also took to Twitter to wish the Aam Aadmi Party chief. “Happy birthday Arvind Kejriwalji. Wishing you good health and a long life ahead,” Ms Banerjee said in a statement.

Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta also greeted Mr Kejriwal. Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav wished the AAP chief good health and success.

Wishing Mr Kejriwal, former cricketer Virender Sehwag wrote, “May you be blessed with good health, no cold & good work”. Boxing star Vijender Singh also extended his wishes.

Bollywood actors and singers, including Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani and Vishal Dadlani, also tweeted their birthday greetings to Mr Kejriwal. Apart from his individual responses, the chief minister also tweeted, “Received birthday greetings from many friends, relatives, supporters. I sincerely thank everyone for their warm wishes.”

Mr Kejriwal is a recipient of the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award.
