Armyman crushed by speeding car in Delhi Cantonment

A 43-year-old Armyman was crushed to death by a speeding Audi in Delhi Cantonment on Wednesday morning. The incident took place at around 10 am near Kirbi Place in the Delhi cantonment.

A 43-year-old Armyman was crushed to death by a speeding Audi in Delhi Cantonment on Wednesday morning. The incident took place at around 10 am near Kirbi Place in the Delhi cantonment. The deceased, identified as Sabarjeet Singh, was on his way home on a cycle when he met with the accident.

“Singh was cycling home when the speeding Audi car rammed into his cycle. It was a head-on collision. The impact of the collision was so high that Singh was thrown off the cycle. He fell on the road an got crushed. His cycle was totally damaged in the incident. Singh was taken to Army’s Base Hospital where he succumbed during the course of treatment,” the police said.

The official said that Sin-gh was posted to 7Batalian of Assam Regiment. He had been living in Delhi Cantonment area. The official said that they have arr-ested the errant driver of the Audi identified as Sarabjeet Singh, a resident of South Delhi’s Ashram area. “Sarabjeet works as a driver. We have arrested him and have impounded the vehicle involved in the commission of crime. A case under relevant sections has been registered,” the official said.

When asked who was the owner of Audi car he refused to divulge more information. Further investigations in the matter were on.
