AAP ‘Swaraj’ budget a flop, says BJP leader

Reacting to lieutenant-governor Najeeb Jung’s address on the first day of the Delhi Assembly’s Budget Session, Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta said the speech clearly describes the tale of the AAP government’s failure and inefficiency to achieve the targets set for 2015-16.

Mr Gupta, a BJP legislator, claimed that the much-touted “Swaraj Budget” of the Kejriwal government has disappeared in thin air and announcements of schemes so proudly made in the spheres of education, health, roads and transport, smart city, women city and security, social welfare and sanitation have turned out to be disastrous failures.

“Achievements described by the L-G are nowhere near the tall promises made by the Kejriwal government. Infrastructure development is nowhere to be seen. In the entire speech by the L-G, no concrete project seems to have materialised. Now, we understand how and why deputy chief minister had started saying that progress does not mean only infrastructure development. In fact, no concrete action can be expected from the present government,” added Mr Gupta.
