Aam Aadmi Party’s Karol Bagh MLA Vishesh Ravi and two other persons have been booked on charges of extortion, criminal conspiracy and intimidation in pursuance of a trial court order.

Aam Aadmi Party’s Karol Bagh MLA Vishesh Ravi and two other persons have been booked on charges of extortion, criminal conspiracy and intimidation in pursuance of a trial court order.

According to the FIR, the AAP MLA along with Vijay Chawla and Virender Aggarwal, had allegedly persuaded the complainant to donate '10 lakh to the party in February 2015. The complainant had written two cheques for the party, but later changed his mind. When the cheques were dishonoured, the two accused, working at the behest of Mr Ravi, threatened the complainant and tried to extort money from him. The FIR stated that the accused also filed a complaint against the victim’s company in order to further pressurise him into paying the money.

The complainant claimed that the matter was communicated to the Paharganj SHO in May but no action was taken. A trial court had on Friday ordered filing of an FIR against the accused, following which a case was registered.
