AAP MLA alleges threat from Arvind Kejriwal

Aam Aadmi Party legislator from Matia Mahal, Asim Ahmed Khan, who was dropped from the Cabinet, alleged on Thursday that chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his aides have given him death threats.

Aam Aadmi Party legislator from Matia Mahal, Asim Ahmed Khan, who was dropped from the Cabinet, alleged on Thursday that chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his aides have given him death threats. “My family and I are receiving death threats from Kejriwal and his aides. If anything happens to me or my family, he (Kejriwal) and his aides shall be responsible,” Mr Khan said.

Asim Khan was a minister in the Delhi government till the CM sacked him in October for allegedly demanding bribe from a builder. Mr Khan also said that he has appealed to the lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung and Union home minister Rajnath Singh to provide police protection to him. “On May 2, I complained to Mr Jung and Mr Rajnath Singh that I was receiving death threats and asked for police protection,” he said.

He alleged that he was threatened with dire consequences for asking Mr Kejriwal to investigate fellow AAP legislator Naresh Yadav’s role in Malerkotla Quran desecration case. “I received a death threat call around 15-20 days back. I have also filed an FIR at Jama Masjid police station,” Mr Khan said.

When asked why he was being threatened, he said: “I worked as a minister in Delhi government for nine months. I know many things which would create problems for them. I have all the proof and would expose Mr Kejriwal very soon. He will benefit from my death.” He added, “I saw a drama on television on Wednesday where Mr Kejriwal alleged that PM Modi would kill him. I was scared for the past few months, but the video gave me courage to come out and expose Mr Kejriwal. As of now I am not leaving AAP”
