An 18-year-old boy was stabbed to death by six people in front of his house in southeast Delhi’s Sangam Vihar on Tuesday.

An 18-year-old boy was stabbed to death by six people in front of his house in southeast Delhi’s Sangam Vihar on Tuesday.

The victim, identified as Ravi, was allegedly waylaid by six youths while he was on his way to meet his friends in I Block of Sangam Vihar area. He was chased around and stabbed repeatedly on Tuesday night, said a police officer.

When attacked, Ravi raised an alarm for help, but the passersby remained mute spectators as his knife-wielding attackers threatened them of dire consequences.

The police has arrested one of the accused, identified as Arman(20).

The attackers also stabbed and injured victim’s friend Imtiaz, who was hospitalised.

According to a senior police official, the deceased was a Gramin Seva driver. A few days ago, Ravi had a fight with Arman following which the former had registered a complaint at the Sangam Vihar police station.'

“The accused surrounded Ravi and stabbed him multiple times on his stomach and throat till he collapsed. After stabbing Ravi, the gang went in search for Ravi’s friend Imtiaz who had seen the gang approaching Ravi. Imtiaz was brutally thrashed by them,”said the official. The locals, who were present at the spot when the incident took place, immediately made a PCR call. The police took Ravi and his friend to a nearby hospital. The doctors declared Ravi brought dead.

Manhunt for the remaiining accused has been launched. Ravi’s body has been handed over to his family after post-mortem.

A case under relevant Sections of the IPC has been registered at the Sangam Vihar police station and further investigation is on.
