Victim Dalbir Singh was in a live-in extra-marital relationship
A 34-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a flat in outer Delhi’s Rohini area on Friday morning. According to the police, the deceased, identified as Dalbir Singh, was staying in the flat with a woman in a live-in extra-marital relationship. His house was ransacked, but no injury marks were found on his body, said the police. A case under relevant sections has been registered at the K.N. Katju Marg police station and further investigations from all possible angles are on. The woman, with whom he was living-in, is absconding since the incident and the cops are trying to trace her.
The police said that on Friday morning they received a call from Dalbir’s neighbour who found him lying dead in his room on the third floor of his flat in Rohini Sector 17.
A police team rushed to the spot and took his body to the hospital for an autopsy. “The house was ransacked, but nothing expensive is missing,” said a senior police officer, adding, “It seems some known person is involved in the incident.”
Dalbir stayed with his wife and two children in Rohini Sector 16 for the past several years and had recently taken the new flat to stay with her companion. “We are questioning his wife in connection with the matter,” said the investigating officials, adding, “We have also identified the woman with whom he was living-in and are trying to locate her.”
The police said that they are scrutinising his phone records and call details to ascertain whether he was in contact with the woman before his death.
“It seems that he was called to the flat in Rohini Sector 17 and then killed,” said the investigating officials, adding, “Thing can only be said with certainty once the autopsy results are out.”
The police added that Dalbir was a in the transport business and owned a few vehicles driven by his drivers. “We have also detained a few of his employees and are interrogating them,” said the investigating officials.
