3,000 cops, 400 pvt guards deployed
More than 3,000 Delhi police personnel were deployed at the Japanese Park, Rohini to ensure the law and order as BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi addressed a mega rally here amid traffic diversions and tight security across the city on Sunday. Troops from paramilitary forces, including Rapid Action Force (RAF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), were deployed to deal with any untoward incident at the ground. Around two lakh people from across the city turned up at the rally to hear Modi’s speech. According to a senior police officer, around 3,000 Delhi police personnel were deputed to ensure law and order at the ground. Around a dozen entry gates were erected around the venue by the event management firm, which was hired to make arrangements, to ensure safe and hassle-free entry for public. Besides, around 400 private security guards were also deputed in the ground for crowd management. There were separate gates for mediapersons. Large LCD screens were put up at the venue and at various places across the city.
