A 10-year-old girl was allegedly molested and touched inappropriately by a teacher in a school run by the MCD in outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar area.
A 10-year-old girl was allegedly molested and touched inappropriately by a teacher in a school run by the MCD in outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar area.
The girl’s father also alleged that the accused school teacher also roughed him up when he went to complain to the school about his daughter’s assault and molestation. A case under relevant sections and POCSO Act has been registered at the Aman Vihar police station. The molestation was discovered when the schoolgirl’s mother spotted her crying on Saturday evening. “She came home at noon and was looking nervous. I asked her, but she could not utter a word. Few hours later, I saw her crying and then she told me her ordeal,” said the 10-year-old girl’s mother.
The girl, who studies in Class 5 of MCD primary school, told her mother that the accused teacher, Manoj Rathi, who teaches her Hindi, took her to a vacant classroom during the school lunch break and touched her inappropriately.
“He wrote some word on the blackboard during the class and when I asked about the meaning, he said, ‘I will tell you later.’ During the lunch break, he took me to a vacant classroom and after closing the door and windows, he asked me to sit on his lap. Then her touched me on my private parts and threatened me not to reveal the incident to anybody,” said the schoolgirl.
“Then I came back to home and informed my mother,” she added.
Her father, who deals in rag-picking business, said they approached the police and lodged an FIR against the teacher. “The police ensured us that proper action would be taken against the errant teacher,” said the schoolgirl’s father, adding that his daughter’s statement was recorded before a magistrate on Thursday.
Her father also alleged that the school administration had threatened him that they would implicate him of raping his daughter and had lodged a fake rape case against him.
