The Indian cricket team, led by skipper Virat Kohli, on Thursday reached St Kitts to play a four-Test bilateral series against the West Indies starting with the opening match at Antigua on July 21.

New head coach Anil Kumble posted a photograph of the team in his Twitter handle and wrote: “Reached St. Kitts...longflight..@cheteshwar1 @klrahul11 @y_umesh Tour begins @BCCI.”

The West Indies Cricket Board also shared a picture of the Indian team after they reached St. Kitts.

“India led by @imVkohli arrived in #StKitts to prepare for the 4 Tests in #Antigua, #Jamaica, #StLucia, #Trinidad,” the WICB tweeted.

India and the West Indies are scheduled to play a four-match Test series, starting July 21 at Antigua, in what would be Kumble’s first assignment as the chief coach of the team and Virat Kohli’s first tour to the Caribbean as Test captain.

India will play a couple of warm-up matches against West Indies Cricket Board President’s XI on July 9 and 10 and July 14 to 16 at Warner Park, Basseterre here. Leon Johnson has been named the skipper of the West President’s XI.

The series comprises four Tests starting with the opening match at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua from July 21 to 25, followed by the second Test at Kingston from July 30 to August 3, third Test at Gros Islet from August 9 to 13 and fourth Test at Trinidad on August 18 to 22.

British Airways apologises to Kumble Anil Kumble’s West Indies tour started with a hiccup. When he landed in St Kitts after a long flight from London, he realised that British Airways had left his kit at Gatwick airport.

British Airways apologised to Kumble in a witty style. BA took to Twitter to regret the incident and promised to ‘bowl over’ Kumble with its service.

“@anilkumble1074 We’re sorry your bags are ‘not out’ to St Kitts! They have been ‘caught behind’ your flight from Gatwick,” tweeted British Airways. We are looking 1/2. “@anilkumble1074 to ‘bowl’ you over with our service recovery. 2/2,” British Airways wrote in two separate tweets in a witty manner using cricketing terms. In November 2015, Sachin Tendulkar had blasted the airlines after one of his family members’ ticket was not confirmed and bagagge was sent to wrong destination.
