Man of the match Puneet Bisht (88 n.o.) and Vaibhav Rawal (93) set up RP Academy’s six-wicket win over Pusa Youngsters in the final of the first Gyaneshwar Prasad Thapliyal Memorial cricket tournament at the Stephen grounds here on Tuesday.
Batting first, Pradeep Malik (120) and Digvijay Rawat (78) helped Pusa Youngsters raise 306/9 in 40 overs. Puneet Mehra and Vishal Chaudhary took two wickets each for RP Academy.
In reply, RP Academy overhauled the target in 39 overs as Rawal and Bisht contributed bulk of the runs. Nakul Raj Sharma chipped in with 57 while Mehra added 25. Kuldeep Singh (3/59) shone with the ball for Pusa Youngsters.
Rawat was also adjudged best batsman of the tournament while the best bowler award went to Mehra. Rawal was named man of the tournament.
