Rahane equals Dravid record, touches 2,000 run-mark in 63rd ODI

The current India cricketer sketches another similarity with the former Mr Dependable.

: India middle-order batsman Ajinkya Rahane left another example as to why he is the modern day Rahul Dravid. The right-hander reached the 2,000 run-mark in the One-Day International (ODI) format in his 63rd match, same that of the former India captain.

The cricket pundits often compare the two batsmen citing their similarity in stance and ability to stick to the wicket. Dravid, who was the coach of the now-defunct Rajasthan team, also opened the batting with Rahane initially and paved way for knowledge-sharing in the middle. Rahane scored 89 off 80 balls to help India set a solid target of 309 for the opponents. He was dismissed by James Faulkner in the 49th over.
