No scope until government gives It's nod: Rajeev Shukla

Indian Premier League chairman Raj-eev Shukla said things stand as they are in relation to the proposed India-Pakistan series, which was scheduled for this month.

Indian Premier League chairman Raj-eev Shukla said things stand as they are in relation to the proposed India-Pakistan series, which was scheduled for this month.

PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan had extended the deadline for the BCCI till Monday night to take a final call on the series.

But Shukla said that unless there was communication from the Indian government there is no scope for the series to go ahead.

“India-Pakistan issue is the same thing. Unless we get a communication from the government, we can’t comment.”

Asked if the decision to invite Pakistan players to play in IPL was different from the bilateral series between India and Pakistan, Shukla said, “Playing a series against Pakistan is altogether a different issue than having players in IPL teams.

“We have no issues with the Pakistan board. We have Pakistani umpires commentators as well as support staff in IPL. “But when it about players’ involvement, we need to talk to all the franchises and than take a decision.”
