Bengaluru: Former Australian cricketer and Chennai Super Kings' batsman Michael Hussey has mentioned in his new book, 'Underneath The Southern Cross', that betting accused Gurunath Meiyappan controlled the team, the authority of which was given by his father-in-law and BCCI chief, N Srinivasan. Earlier in the wake of spot-fixing scandal, N Srinivasan has mentioned in a press conference that Gurunath was merely a cricket -"enthusiast-", while a press release by India Cements, owners of CSK, said that Gurunath was not the team principal but an honorary member of CSK team management. But this latest revelations by Hussey has nailed Srinivasan's lie on his son-in-law Gurunath. According to a report by Cricinfo, Hussey has written in his book, “Our owner was Indian Cements, headed by Mr Srinivasan. As he was also on the board of the BCCI, he gave control of the team to his son-in-law Mr Gurunath. He ran the team along with Kepler Wessels, who was coach.”
