Injury scare for Yasir Shah ahead of Second Test

Leg-spinner Yasir Shah suffered a worrying injury scare when he was knocked to the floor in the nets by one of his own bowlers ahead of second Test against England.

Yasir, who was instrumental in Pakistan’s Lord’s victory last week taking 10 wickets, looks key to their chances of going 2-0 up in the Investec Series.

But he was left on the ground writhing in agony for over a minute towards the end of his batting net after being struck on his left shoulder by one of the seamers. Yasir, 30, was helped up from the floor by Wahab Riaz and attended by Pakistan’s team doctor before returning to the dressing room, holding his left arm, in clear discomfort. Pakistan team management insisted the bowler is absolutely fine and that he would play the second Test starting on Thursday at Old Trafford.
