: Australia allrounder Glenn Maxwell has been ruled out of Tuesday’s first Twenty20 cricket international against India with a hamstring injury.

Maxwell has returned to his home in Melbourne to recover from the injury while the remainder of the Australia squad assembles in Adelaide for the first match of the three match series.

Acting coach Michael Di Venuto, who has taken over from Darren Lehmann who is in hospital receiving treatment for deep vein thrombosis, said Maxwell “has still got a little slight hamstring niggle so he will spend a few days in Melbourne at home and join the squad when we get there in a couple of days.”
