Quite unlike their star-studded male counterparts, India’s women have made a quiet — and winning — start to their campaign in the ICC World Twenty20 tournament, and will look to taking the next step towards the semi-finals against Pakistan in a Group B Super 10 game at the Kotla here on Saturday.

While all attention will be riveted on the Eden Gardens in Kolkata where the men’s teams of the two sub-continental superpowers clash, the game here is expected to be an altogether quieter affair. Mithali Raj and her troops came into this tournament on the back of a successful run against Australia and Sri Lanka and began strongly against Bangladesh. Against Pakistan, India women have a 5-1 win record.
