Chhattisgarh granted full-member status
Chhattisgarh Cricket Sangh was granted full membership by the BCCI in its working committee meeting here on Friday.

Chhattisgarh Cricket Sangh was granted full membership by the BCCI in its working committee meeting here on Friday. Chhattisgarh was an associate member for long and will now be the 28th affiliated unit of the board and will take part in the Ranji Trophy.
“The members approved the recommendation of the affiliation committee of BCCI to grant full member status to Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh. They will be a part of the Central Zone for all the BCCI tournaments,” the BCCI said in a statement.
“We are happy that our hard work has paid off. It is great news for the players of our state who had to migrate to other states to continue playing after the Under-19 level. Now we can play in the Ranji and also our talented cricketers can have shot in the Indian team,” said president Baldev Singh Bhatia who represented CCS in the working committee meeting.
The board also allowed Bihar Cricket Association, one of the warring factions in the state to participate in the working committee meeting. “We thank the board for allowing us to attend today’s meeting. Our association has been recognised as an associate member. Now we can concentrate on development of cricket in the state,” said BCA secretary Mrityunjay Tiwary.
Although there was no official confirmation from BCCI on BCA’s inclusion as associate member but they seem to have ignored the unsanctioned Cricket Association of Bihar, whose secretary Aditya Verma became the face of the IPL spot-fixing petition and anti-N. Srinivasan movement.
In fact, Verma who accused BCCI joint secretary Amitabh Choudhary of having a conflict of interest issue just a day ago was not even invited to the meeting.
