All about istanbul

I love Istanbul for it is the perfect blend of Asian warmth and European facilities and infrastructure. Besides, the sheer beauty of the Bosphorus and the various historical places, such as the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, stayed with me long after I had left.

I love Istanbul for it is the perfect blend of Asian warmth and European facilities and infrastructure. Besides, the sheer beauty of the Bosphorus and the various historical places, such as the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, stayed with me long after I had left. I went there with my family in November when the weather was perfect. Also, the food is delicious and the people hospitable, which made it all the more memorable. In India, somehow I wind up in Manali or some place in Himachal whenever I get some time off work. I grew up in that area and love the chance to get to the mountains. I love sitting by mountain streams. My husband, Sanjay, is our chief holiday planner. He is a master at it and so we have a mixed bag of sightseeing, leisurely walks to soak in the atmosphere, and of course, shopping which I wouldn’t be denied. We also normally plan an adventure sports activity around the area, if there is any. White water rafting, paragliding or quad biking are some of my favourite adventure sports. We are keen on a diving holiday now. And Macchu Picchu is on our list. We take as many breaks as we can as both Sanjay and I love to travel. We just got back from New York and Toronto where we had gone to attend the film festival. Qissa, my film, had its premiere there, and so we made a holiday of the visit. Earlier, we had gone for a few days to Coorg, which is another place of scenic beauty. When work gets hectic, we just take the car and drive to Pune or some place nearby and spend a couple of nights there. Even that is a good enough break from city life sometimes.
