Chief minister Yogi Adityanath, who is also the MP from Gorakhpur, has been raising the issue in Lok Sabha since 1998 but the situation doesnt seem to have changed much. He even demanded that the disease should be categorised as an epidemic. Ever since he took over as the CM, he has been regularly visiting the BRDMC and keeping in touch with the doctors.
