Volkswagen will commence pre-launch bookings for its upcoming compact sedan Ameo from May 12th. Other than the compact SUV segment, compact sedan segment is witnessing plenty of launches to grab the growing customer base.
Compared to the sedan segment, these sub 4m compact sedans enjoy lower excise duty and occupies lesser parking space suiting the young customer who upgrade from a hatchback car. Ameo will get power from the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol and 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engines. Ameo comes equipped with dual front airbags and ABS as standard fitment across variants similar to polo. Ameo will take on the mighty Maruti dzire,Honda Amaze, Tata Zest, Hyundai Xcent and Ford Aspire.
Volkswagen also plans multi-city road show to promote the made-in-india ameo to enable customers to explore Ameo's features and make the bookings.Remember, Ameo will come with first in-class features like cruise control and rain sensing wipers with static cornering lights. Volkswagen also plans to launch an iOS and android app to access details about the Ameo. Ameo Is expected to be price upwards of Rs5.5 lakhs.
