Tata Tiago gets 15000 bookings while Maruti Vitara Brezza Gets 70000

In what could be best news for the struggling Tata Motors, its latest hot hatch has managed to garner 15000 bookings and has received more than 1,00,000 inquiries since its launch. SN Barman, VP, sales and network, Tata Motors commented that the price of the Tiago might be increased soon as it is difficult to hold on the aggressive introductory price. Considering the popularity that the car is enjoying having already sold more than 3000 units, its waiting period is expected to increase from its present value of two months. Maruti Vitara Brezza which has become the most wanted SUV is now struggling to meet the customer demands. Maruti is said to have received 70000 booking while only 20000 units is said to have delivered to the dealers. RS Kalsi, executive director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India, told Autocar Professional that current production of the Vitara Brezza stands at around 8,500 units a month but the demand is growing at a faster pace, creating a mismatch in the demand-supply chain. The waiting period now stands at 9 months for some variants.
