SRM University over the weekend held its 12th convocation ceremony for the graduating batch.
On the first of the two- day event, more than 6600 students received their Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Technology, Archite-cture and Design; besides 74 students were awarded their Ph.D degrees from all disciplines.
As many as 52 students were awarded certificates of accomplishment in their respective fields of study.
The Chancellor of SRM University, Dr. P. Sathyanarayanan, presiding over the Convocation said that the students receiving their degree today are lucky as today happens to be Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Birth Anniversary and advised the students to live up to his expectations
Mr. D. Bhattacharya, vice chairman of Hindalco Industries, reminded students that they were starting their new journey at a very opportune time in India as the economy was quite robust with exponential growth in many areas and the government gearing up for the next set of reforms.
