The BSE Sensex tumbled the most in more than three months Monday as it fell by 537.55 points to crack below the 26,000-mark after renewed worries over the health of Chinese economy and geopolitical tensions in West Asia combined to spook investors.
Amid heavy sell-off, the market capitalisation of BSE listed companies fell below the Rs 100 lakh crore-mark, wiping out nearly Rs 1.54 lakh crore from investor wealth. Further selling activity was a result of domestic manufacturing sector output shrinking.
