Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd., has a capital expenditure of Rs 1,10,000 crore till FY 17 for development of inter-state transmission system and for FY16 it has got approval for investing Rs 9,471 crore in 13 projects till December.

“In keeping with the new demands following terrorist activities, Power Grid will have aerial patrolling by helicopters of 17,000 kms of transmission lines in J&K from March 2016,” said I.S.Jha, CMD, PGCIL, declaring the results for Q3 on Thursday.

He added that they have also purchased two drones for monitoring and maintenance of transmission lines. PGCIL operates 127,266 km of transmission lines along wih 205 sub-stations with average availability for April-December being 99.78 per cent. The company’s capitalisation for three years ending FY 16 would be Rs 26,802 crore. It posted a net profit of Rs 1,613 crore for the quarter, a rise of 31 per cent for the same quarter in the previous year. The total income rose to Rs 5,505 crore up by 23 per cent while the total income and PAT was Rs 15,320 crore and Rs 4,428 crore respectively.
