Indo-Bahrain bilateral trade stood at around USD 1.2 billion in 2013-2014.

Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on May 27 urged Bahrain to enhance its investments in India, highlighting the investment opportunities in the country.
In a meeting with the Bahrains Minister of Industry, Commerce & Tourism Zayed R Alzayani, Sitharaman -"mentioned the high investment opportunities in India and requested Bahrain to enhance its investments-".
During the meeting, Alzayani emphasized on the strong bond between both the countries and said that India is a vital partner for Bahrain, a Commerce Ministry statement said.
Indo-Bahrain bilateral trade stood at around USD 1.2 billion in 2013-2014 -- a jump from merely USD 220 million in 1999-2000.
