Bengaluru: Indian smartphone users have received an overwhelming majority of spam calls in 2017, according a report by a call identification and spam detection app, Truecaller.
An average Truecaller user in the country has received over 22 spam calls a month, making India top the list of “2017’s top spam-plagued countries.” The US and Brazil share the second position.
The study said that India topped the list because its spam calls issue majorly lies with operators and financial services, who seek to provide free data, or unlimited calls.
