Mumbai: The Delhi High Court on Monday posted its order for November 29 on a petition requesting the HC to relax ceiling on Rs 2.5 lakh withdrawal for wedding ceremonies.

The government had on November 17 allowed a withdrawal limit of Rs 2.5 lakh for wedding ceremonies from accounts that fulfill the Reserve Bank of India’s Know Your Customer guidelines, the Press Trust of India reported.

Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das while announcing the decision had said that the move would help farmers in distress and families that were in dire need of cash for wedding expenses.
