Sugar quota raised for BPL families, Antyoday card holders
Sugar quota per family per month is increased from 500 grams to one kg.

The wholesale sugar prices have remained sluggish and in fact below the cost of production throughout the year because of surplus domestic production.
Mumbai: Maharashtra government on Friday announced increasing the quota of sugar for people living Below the Poverty Line (BPL) and those having Antyoday cards.
The quota per family per month is increased from 500 grams to one kg, while the rate is also hiked from Rs 15 per kg to Rs 20, a GR issued today stated. There are some 55,000 fair price shops in Maharashtra.
