Chennai: Flipkart has settled its legal dispute with Vishal Gondal-owned and Ratan Tata-backed startup GOQii, which had previously alleged that it suffered losses because its products were sharply discounted by the marketplace.

GOQii, a seller of wearable devices that track physical workouts, had taken Flipkart to a Mumbai court, alleging its devices were discounted by around 70 per cent to the retail price, much more than what both sides agreed upon. The court, as an interim measure, ordered sales of the devices to be halted on Flipkart.

The All-India Online Vendors Association, which claims to represent more than 3,500 online sellers, was exploring legal options to be a part of GOQii case before the next hearing. GOQii was the first seller to have sought legal redressal over its dispute with an e-commerce marketplace.

However in a joint statement on Friday, the companies said the dispute had been resolved and GOQii health devices would again be available on Flipkart. They didn't say how the settlement was reached.

Vishal Gondal, CEO of GOQii, told Reuters the company would withdraw the case against Flipkart. The e-commerce retailer's "team worked on a resolution benefitting the brand and the customers", Gondal said.
