Mumbai: Bharti Airtel has decided it will not give in to the pressure created by cheaper data war and continue the fight against Reliance Jio that has disrupted India's telecom market.

In its latest offering, country's largest telecom operator in terms of subscriber base has to offer extra 10GB data free for its existing post-paid customers. Airtel's fresh freebie comes days after Reliance Jio uncovered Dhan Dhana Dhan plan for Rs 309.

The free extra 10GB data plan for Airtel's post paid users known as ‘Data Surprise Offer’ was in the start mainly for postpaid users till 13 April, 2017, according to a report in Business Standard.

The same offer has now been extended for Airtel's post-paid users until April 30, 2017, that amounts to an extension of 17 days. Subscribers who became part of Airtel 4G network before February 28 were eligible to get the benefits under Data Surprise Offer, the report said.

This extra free data is instead of existing data that Airtel's post-paid users were getting. An Airtel subscriber can log onto MyAirtel App for availing these benefits. This comes days after Bharti Airtel launched a similar scheme for its pre-paid users.

Airtel is also offering a Rs 244 plan for its pre-paid users. Under the plan it is giving 70GB free data and unlimited local and STD calling on its 4G network. This scheme is for those users who have a 4G smartphone with a 4G SIM.
