Hyderabad: In an attempt that tries to use surplus manpower in the country as against machines, Godrej Interio plans to tie-up with local carpenters as it seeks to enter into premium custom-designed furniture market in select cities.
“A lot of people would like to have custom-desi-gned furniture for their homes. However, they may not choose to engage a local carpenter for the lack of skill. So we have developed a new concept called Godrej U&Us studio, where customer can get his custom furniture designed and we will get it made using local carpenters,” said Anil Mathur, COO of Godrej Interio.
It has opened its first studio in Hyderabad and fifth in the country on Thursday. It plans to open eight more in this fiscal.
