Flipkart, Amazon offer up to 80 pc discounts in May sales
Sellers can cash in on the sale offers to make up for loss they incurred post-demonetisation.
Mumbai: This is not even the festive season. But e-commerce giants Flipkart and Amazon have already lined up big sales in May. A report in The Time of India claims sellers can cash in on the sale offer to make up for the loss they incurred post-demonetisation.
The report added that domestic e-commerce player Flipkart as part of its 10-year celebrations would launch a 'Big 10' offer for shoppers to chose from its vast range of inventory.
Flipkart will offer discounts of up to 80 per cent on products of major brands in India. Apart from that, the company expects it would record a three to four-fold jump in its revenues during the May 14-18 sale period.
Amazon is not far behind from Flipkart in offering discounted sales to its own online shoppers. The second largest e-commerce player will put up its online discount stalls from May 11-14. The sale will "witness thousands of blockbuster deals at never-seen-before prices", the report added.
