PUNE: Audi, India's third biggest German luxury car maker, on Wednesday introduced a special edition of its popular flagship Q7 SUV.

Called the Q7 Black Edition, this model is limited to 100 units priced at Rs 82.15 lakhs at pan India showroom to boost sales ahead of the festive season.

The Audi Q7 rivals the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE in the Indian market. Based on the top-end Q7 Technology trim, the Audi Q7 Black Edition, as the name suggests, gets blacked-out grille along with the air intakes in the front. The sides display, the gloss black finished door trims.

The similar finish can be seen on the B and C pillars along with the wing mirrors. The roof rails and the alloy wheel are also finished in gloss black while the alloy wheels get a matte black finish.

"Audi has been a pioneer in the luxury SUV segment and the Audi Q7 particularly has maintained competitive advantage ever since its launch," Balbir S. Dhillon, Head of Audi India, said.

At the top of luxury, Audi's customers want to showcase their individuality and exclusivity and the new Audi Q7 Black Edition will offer customers just that - great features and innovative accessories in a limited-edition model, he boasted.

"We are selling only 100 units of the Audi Q7 Black Edition and are confident that Audi family members and luxury aficionados will grab the opportunity to own this attractive car," Dhillon pointed out.

He said to uplift the consumer sentiment this festive season, the Government's initiative of 30 per cent depreciation would act like a booster.

The updates are limited to the exterior only, while the cabin and the mechanicals of the SUV remain the same.
