Bajaj Auto launches Platina 110 H-Gear

Interestingly, with the additional fifth gear on offer, Bajaj has added a segment-first feature to the Platina 110 bike.

PUNE: Bajaj Auto, India's second biggest motorcycle maker, on Tuesday introduced the new Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear bikes priced at Rs 53,376 (drum brake version) and Rs 55,373 for the disc brake-equipped version.

The Pune-headquartered auto major said the new version is "optimised for highway riding," thanks to the additional fifth gear it comes with and a few more features.

"The brand Platina has always stood for exceptionally high mileage and superior comfort," Sarang Kanade, President Motorcycle Business at Bajaj Auto, said

"Our R&D team's efforts have led to the launch of Platina 110 H-Gear that boasts of many first-in-class features that deliver the perfect combination of comfort, mileage, pickup and style," he boasted.

Interestingly, with the additional fifth gear on offer, Bajaj has added a segment-first feature to the Platina 110 bike.

Calling it the "Highway Gear," which is "optimised for delivering the right mix of pickup and fuel economy on long-distance highway riding."

In addition to the new gearbox, the company has also revised the instrumentation on the new motorcycle and it now displays not just the gear position, but also a gear shift indicator that lets the rider what would be the most efficient gear at any given time.
