Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra have been promoting their latest flick Baar Baar Dekho, which released on Friday, with a vengeance. The music of the movie has been quite a success, especially Kaala Chashma. However, Katrina has opened up about the fact that she was not very comfortable with a part of the song.
A line in Kaala Chashma goes, “Tu munda bilkul desi hai, main Katrina toh soni ve (You’re a desi boy and I’m prettier than Katrina).” The actress, in an interview was prodded on the meta-referential portion, and she replied candidly that the lyrics had been a source of major discomfort to her.
Kat confessed that she’d overlooked the lyrics, as she habitually rehearsed the song without lip-syncing. However, when she did notice the reference, she was fraught and requested the portion be tweaked. She said, “I had a big problem with that line. I have a very bad habit; I rehearse, and rehearse my steps, but I never rehearse with the lyrics. This one particular line, the lyrics were very fast. So fast that I was asking which beat came on which word. And then I actually paid attention. That made no sense even logically (the lyrics) and secondly, I was not comfortable with it. But then we decided there was no time to call up Badshah (the composer) and change it, so we decided to just forget it since no one was going to notice it. But still, it’s really, really weird!”
Kat’s discomfort surely does not take away from her sizzling moves in the song, though!
