Saira Banu cancels birthday celebrations

The lovely and graceful Saira Banu, who turned a year older on Wednesday, spent a quiet cheerless birthday, away from all celebration. The recent death of her beloved brother Sultan left the actress in no mood for a birthday party.

“My heart is heavy with the loss of my beloved brother Sultan. I have no heart to say anything. It is very difficult to make people understand that Sultan was everything to Yusuf saab (Dilip Kumar) and me. He was our closest companion all our lives. Sultan was almost like my twin,” she says emotionally.

Too depressed to celebrate, Saira kept to herself throughout her birthday. Says a close friend of the beautiful actress, who gave up her blooming career to look after her husband, “Her world revolves completely around Yusuf saab. The other person who was close to her heart was her brother Sultan. With Sultan gone Saira is frightened of the future.”
