Punit Malhotra to helm Student Of The Year 2

Ever since Karan Johar revealed that the sequel to his Student Of The Year is on the cards, B-town is rife with speculation surrounding film’s star cast.

While Alia, Sidharth and Varun cleared the air saying that they are not reuniting in the film’s sequel, other actors expressed their desire to be part of the franchise.

We had earlier told you that Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara and Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan are in talks with Karan Johar and if all goes as planned, the two will be making their Bollywood debut with SOTY 2.

Now recent buzz reveals that the film will be hlemed by I Hate Luv Storys and Luv Ka The End director Puneet Malhotra. And film, which is being touted as a ‘unusual love story’ will indeed star Sara Ali Khan opposite Ishaan Khattar. However, Karan Johar is yet to make an official announcement regarding his actors and the director.

Ishaan and Sara’s Bollywood debut is a topic of much interest in industry circles. It’s no surprise that both of them have harboured acting ambitions since childhood. Sara just completed her graduation from Colombia University, while Ishaan worked as assistant director in Shahid’s film Udta Punjab.
