It was a risky move as history has enough examples of actresses quitting Bollywood after getting married — right from Saira Banu to Twinkle Khanna. In both Kareena and Vidya’s cases, the number of film offers dwindled after they tied the knot. And adding to the damage were their films that continued to fare poorly at the box office. Kareena managed to bounce back with Singham Returns followed by Bajrangi Bhaijaan, but there’s no escaping the fact that both these films were centred around the hero.
What’s interesting to note however, is that, such is the star appeal of these two actresses that even with the reduced number of offers, they still appear to have a lot more work on their plate as compared to leading ladies who are single.
