She was raised a Roman Catholic, but Sri Lankan beauty, Jacqueline Fernandez says, “I do not believe in any one God; only an omnipresent power that takes care of all human beings.”

It is this belief that keeps her grounded, apart from the strong values her parents have given her. “I love and respect my parents. Though they do not know much about Bollywood, they regularly watch my films. My father watches the entertainment channels on television so that he knows the kind of news that is going on about me.”

On the flipside, she says, “When false things are circulated by the media, it hurts. Especially for my parents, who are very simple and sensitive. As actors, we become thick-skinned. We can handle it easily. But to tell you the truth, I have stopped reading any kind of news.”

On her relationship with other actors, be it Salman, Varun, Sooraj or Tiger, Jacqueline says, “I share a platonic, professional and amicable relationship with all my heroes. In front of the cameras, it is professional but behind the scenes, we are good pals. So, my name has never been linked with any of my co-stars.”

So how are Tiger and Sooraj to work with “They may be new but these youngsters are focused and well-prepared. I have done a video with Sooraj and a full film with Tiger. Sooraj is slightly on the mischievous side, but Tiger is simple, calm and shy. But once he is in front of the camera though, he gives his best in just one take.”

Jacqueline has only good things to say about her journey so far. “It has been memorable and beautiful, from doing different kinds of roles in films to judging this season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. I feel happy and blessed.”

Is there someone special in her life The actor says, “I am single and not thinking of marriage at the moment. My parents are my role models and marriage is a great bond. I would love to have children and a family in the future. I have to experience that phase in life for sure.”

For now though, it’s all about career for Jacqueline. “I’ve almost renounced my life for my work. It’s a sacrifice, but I’m being rewarded for it. I love to be in front of the camera and want to be on the big screen for as much time as the almighty wants me to be there.”
