Kangana Ranaut, who is currently shooting for Vishal Bharadwaj’s Rangoon in Arunachal Pradesh was back in Mumbai on Tuesday to promote a brand that she endorses. As her lawyers are busy battling it in court with the defamation lawsuit, the actress wants to remain tight-lipped on the matter.
When probed on the subject, the actress said, “Sometimes you guys (the media) have to allow some personal space to a celebrity also. It can be very overwhelming. Being strong just doesn’t mean you walk through life without being affected or intimidated. Being strong means standing up amidst things in spite of all of this.”
Kangana further added, “It is not that I won’t talk about it. I will, but as of now please grant me that space and let’s talk about what we are here for.”
At the brand event, she was expected to interact with the media for the first time after the controversy. But the actress made her stance clear right at the onset. She had already instructed her team to make sure that she faced no awkward situations during media interactions. The organisers were asked to ensure no awkward questions were put forth by the members of the media. Kangana had briefed her team that she would only answer questions that were related to the brand.
And if at all someone asked a personal question, she would blatantly refuse to comment. The busy actress only allotted one hour to the event and 30 minutes to the press conference.
