Bengaluru disturbance to thwart Kalki Kocehlin’s plans

Kalki Kocehlin is scheduled to meet Pakistani poetess Miriam Paracha today for the National Youth Poetry Grand Slam (NYPS) in Bengaluru, where renowned spoken word poet Sarah Kay too is slated to perform. Kalki is a judge along side Sarah. But with the city witnessing public unrest lately, will the proposed poetic summit materialise Kalki is positive. She says, “We are getting together today in Bangalore. It’s for a mushaira being organised by the (NYPS).”

The actress sees this instance of Pakistan and India coming together as a matter of great importance. She says, “Miriam has already heard of me. But I am not familiar with her work. So I am really looking forward to meeting her. And of course, I am a big fan of Sarah Kay. I am very excited and nervous about the event. Let’s see if it happens.” We’ve got our fingers crossed for this one.
