Anurag Kashyap's Raman Raghav 2.0 opens to jam-packed house at Cannes

Cannes

: Anurag Kashyap's psychological thriller 'Raman Raghav 2.0', based on the notorious serial killer Raman Raghav, screened today to full house at the 69th Cannes Film festival.

Anurag, who has previously screened his two-part 'Gangs of Wasseypur' and 'Ugly' in the Directors' Fortnight sidebar of the Cannes, was excited about his film's premiere.

He wrote, -"Gonna go to sleep and hope I sleep for 8.30 in the french AM is the first show of Raman Raghav 2.0. First screening has begun.. House is packed.. Hmmmmm....-"

Nawazuddin will be essaying the role of Raman Raghav (aka 'Psycho Raman'), the deranged, real-life serial killer of the '60s. Raghav, who committed two known series of murders in 1966 and 1968, is said to have been one of the most notorious serial killers in India. Eventually, he was nabbed and sentenced to life imprisonment, on grounds of his supposedly incurable mental illness. He lived out the rest of his days in Yerwada Central Jail, Pune, before dying of kidney failure in 1995.

'Raman Raghav 2.0' is all set to be released on June 24th.
