Ajay Devgn’s highly anticipated upcoming film Shivaay will have to battle it out in the box office this Diwali with Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Ajay had already declared the date of his film’s release and KJo picking the same date for his film came as a big surprise to the actor-director.
Ajay had so far refrained from commenting on the anticipated clash but at the trailer launch of Shivaay, held in Indore on August 7, he finally broke his silence. “It really doesn’t matter to me. Everyone wishes for a solo release but I am more concerned about what I am doing than what others are doing,” Ajay said on his film’s clash with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
The twist in the tale is that the actor was overheard ranting about the clash to a close friend during the promotions. “Why would Karan Johar release his film on the same date as mine I am so confident about Shivaay that I released the trailer two-and-a-half months ago. It is so unfortunate that he will affect the distribution of my film,” he was heard saying.
