Recovery agent robbed of Rs 10 lakh, two arrested

New Delhi: A cash recovery agent was robbed of Rs 10.6 lakh in northeast Delhi and two men have been arrested in connection with the robbery. 

On October 21, a man named Vinod Kumar informed the police that while returning to Nangloi in his car, he was robbed of Rs 10.6 lakh by four unidentified armed assailants at Gokalpuri flyover.

Police analysed the CCTV footage from the area and found that two mobikes were following the victim’s car. On the basis of CCTV footage and questioning of local sources, Mohd Asif, 23, was arrested on Wednesday and `one lakh was recovered from his possession. His side kick, Firoj, 24, was arrested   on Thursday and Rs 1,17,900 was recovered from his house. Further interrogation revealed the names of their other associates as Matloof alias Chikna, Raju alias Arif and Naseem, who are still absconding. Naseem had planned the robbery. He is carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 
on his head by the Delhi Police’s Special Cell, the police said.
