Love it or loathe it, but you can't ignore the Pokemon Go game. The smartphone app has already broke several records to be the most successful game in the US. Due to its popularity, the struggling gaming company Nintendo, knows for its ill-fated Wi U has seen incredible surge in its valuation. If all that wasn't enough, the number of active Pokemon Go users in the US have already surpassed Twitter users. If you think that all of this is crazy, here's a bunch of Pokemon facts you probably did not know about:

Coins (Legal currency)

We all know video game currency. In \"freemium\" mobile games, you can make up for the skills by spending these virtual gold coins. This case is different though. Here, coins based on stupid video game characters, are legally used for transaction. Welcome to Niue, an island country in the South Pacific Ocean that minted Pokemon coins in early 2000. To be precise, the $1 and $10 coins were based on Pokemon characters. No points for guessing that these coins are sought after by the Pikachu gang fans around the world.

For obvious reasons, I wasn't quite sure about the authenticity of this one. Any reasonable person would wonder why would anyone mass produce such product. Not sure, if the gig is still on, but ANA (All Nippon Airways) had at least a couple of Pokemon branded Jumbo Jets (Boing 747-400). That's way before the insane popularity of the mobile-friendly Pokemon Go game though. These flights flew back in 1998, on domestic routes. And yes, the stewardesses had to don a weird outfit.
