Microsoft to end sales of PCs running on all versions except Windows 10 after October...

After October 2016, only PCs pre-installed with Windows 10 will be available

Microsoft has given its PC OEMs another year to clear their inventory of laptops and computers running on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. The tech giant has declared that, post October 31st, 2016 none of the PC manufacturers can sell computers running on any operating system other than Windows 10. Which essentially means, after October 2016, only laptops and computers pre-installed with Widows 10 will be available for purchase.

Microsoft has also update its Lifecycle Fact Sheet to note that October 31st 2016 would be the last date for the manufacturers to sells a computer running on Windows 7. Interestingly, the last date for selling a Windows 8 computer is much before Windows 7, that is, June 30, 2016.

Below is the list of end-of-sale dates put up by Microsoft on its blog.
