The Q8 is the refreshed V20 with a smaller display and IP68 waterproofing.

LG has fixed the issues of the V20 and rebadged the smartphone as the Q8.

Last year, LG launched the V20 which was a great smartphone. It came with the flagship chipset of 2016 along with the latest Android version. The V20 also had a secondary display on top that displayed notifications, thus freeing up precious space on the screen. However, the V20 came with its own set of issues – a bigger form factor and lack of waterproofing. Well, it seems that LG has fixed the issues and rebadged it as the Q8.

Therefore, the Q8 carries 90 percent of the V20’s internals, which means that it carries the Snapdragon 820 chipset, dual camera system, secondary notification display and 32-bit DAC chip. Compared to the V20, it only houses a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display and IP68 water resistance. The only thing that it loses out from the V20 is its removable battery.

Apart from that, it has 3000mAh battery and has 4GB of RAM along with 32GB internal storage. It runs on Android Nougat 7.0 with LG’s custom UI on top. LG hasn’t revealed the price of the device as well as its availability yet.
