The recently unveiled ASUS ROG Phone is rumoured to hit the Indian shores pretty soon.

The ROG Phone is loaded to the teeth with the latest smartphone technologies focusing on raw performance.

Gaming smartphones are an emerging category, with some of the renowned manufacturers of the smartphone industry coming out with compelling products. The trend was started by Razer last year, which has been now adopted by mass-market manufacturers for developing markets. ASUS took to the stage to unveil the ROG Phone a few days ago — an Android smartphone with some of the best features and specifications that will appease the nerds. The good news is that ASUS may be considering the ROG Phone for the Indian market if the rumours are to be believed.

According to a report from The Mobile Indian, some industry insiders have suggested that ASUS will be bringing the ROG Phone to the Indian market around September this year. This will make it the first gaming smartphone to be sold in the Indian market. However, there’s no clue as to how much ASUS will charge for the smartphone.

However, guessing the price shouldn’t be that hard. The ROG Phone is loaded to the teeth with the latest smartphone technologies focusing on raw performance. There’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip that’s overclocked up to 2.9GHz. That has been accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. The ROG Phone sports a 6-inch full HD+ AMOLED HDR display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. It features vapour cooling to keep the internal temperature low when the system has been performing at full chat for an extended session of time. Additionally, it also features RGB lighting and ultrasonic pressure sensitive zones. The ROG Phone is backed by a massive 4000mah battery.

Therefore, if ASUS is launching the ROG Phone for the Indian market, we can expect it to compete with the likes of the Google Pixel 2 and Samsung’s Galaxy S9+ when it comes to pricing. And once ASUS brings it to our market, we can expect Xiaomi’s Black Shark to follow up with their flagship offering for the Indian market as well.
