A case maker has revealed Apple’s plans for the upcoming iPhone 11 handsets and it’s a shocker.

Apple will be launching the next-generation iPhones with the Pro moniker.

For the past few years, it can be argued that Apple’s naming scheme has been flawed; however Apple appears to be sorting it out with the 2019 iPhone lineup and thanks to a popular case maker, ESR, we now know the names of the upcoming iPhones. For its 2019 iPhone models, Apple will be launching the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. And if this massive leak turns out to be true, then Apple has finally rectified the unnecessarily complex aspects of its most popular devices.

As per a report by 9to5Mac, who has obtained a document from case maker ESR, Apple will power ahead with these new names for its upcoming iPhones. The Apple dedicated website states that the documentation shows the ESR stock list for Apple’s upcoming flagship iPhones with leather cases and glass display protectors all carrying the iPhone 11 branding. As per the leaked document, that was first brought into the picture by French website iphonesoft.fr, the iPhone 11 will be the successor to the iPhone XR and it will feature a 6.1-inch LCD display and two rear cameras.

The iPhone 11 Pro will be the successor to the iPhone XS and there will be a square camera bump on the rear that will house the new triple camera configuration. The handset will also come with an upgraded front camera and a new mute switch. The iPhone XS Max successor will be called the iPhone 11 Pro Max which is quite a mouthful and it certainly deviates from Apple’s traditional simple naming scheme.

The report states, “Case makers have to make bets based on the best information at hand, months ahead of Apple’s official announcement. We have seen consensus on the chassis design and now it seems many are flocking to the 11/Pro branding too. However, whilst these accessory manufacturers are usually correct basing their information on leaks from the Chinese supply chain, they are not 100%.”

With this being said, case makers sometimes get the facts wrong and will ship the products that they have already manufactured after which they will issue new packaging for the second batch of products. Interestingly, when the iPhone X launched in 2017, many case manufacturers shipped their first few cases with packaging that read iPhone 8 and not iPhone X. This was rapidly rectified for its later batches.

Apple is expected to unveil the new iPhone models at its early September event and the sale of these handsets will commence from the second week of the same month.
